This Privacy Policy explains how Beloud LLC, publishing on Google Play under the developer names Safe Apps Inc, Beloud.com and Safe Apps MVPs ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses and shares information when you use our news apps for Android (together, the "Apps"). The Apps are personalized news aggregators: they show headlines and articles from third-party news publishers and let readers comment, react and discuss the news.
By using the Apps you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Apps. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
The camera and photo/video permissions are only used when you choose to take or attach a photo or video to a post or comment. The notification permission is used for breaking news and replies to you. We never access these without an action from you.
Some features use automated processing, for example ranking comments, detecting spam, or writing the neutral question of the daily debate from public headlines. The daily debate question is generated from news headlines only; no personal information is sent for it.
Your name, profile photo, and what you publish (comments, replies, posts, community notes, live room messages) are public to other users of the Apps. Your stance on an article may be shown as a badge on your comments under that article. Debate votes and stances are only shown to others as totals, never with your name, except that stance badge. Please do not publish private information.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the providers that run parts of the Apps for us, under their own privacy policies:
Advertising: AdMob and Meta Audience Network may use your device's advertising ID and similar information to show and measure ads, including personalized ads where allowed. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), we ask for your consent first through the Google consent form, and you can change your choice later in the App. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your Android settings.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or of others, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
Articles are written by third-party publishers. When you open an article on the publisher's website, that website's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for the practices of other websites.
We keep your account information while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except what we must keep longer to comply with the law, resolve disputes or prevent abuse. Technical logs are kept for a limited time. Information that is not linked to an account (for example anonymous usage statistics) may be kept in aggregate form.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, for example under the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by that law, other than through the advertising partners named in section 4), Korea's Personal Information Protection Act, or Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
The Apps are not directed to children. You must be at least 14 years old to create an account (or older if your country requires it). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We use encrypted connections between the Apps and our servers and limit access to personal information to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password for the account you sign in with. Our servers are located in the European Union (Germany), and our service providers may process information in other countries, including the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers where the law requires them.
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the App.
